PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mamed Juras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brynden Tully (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Juras might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tiger. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mamed Juras!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brynden Tully!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juras ducks right into an uppercut from Tully.

Tully shoots in and bounces Juras off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Juras might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Tully wanted to stand there but Juras had control of the position.
Tully postures up in Juras's guard and throws a big left but Juras blocks it.
Tully throws a big right hand that misses.
Tully won't allow Juras to sweep him here.

Tully gets to his feet. Juras looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tully shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Juras controlling the position.
Tully has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Juras is working an open guard so Tully takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Tully works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Tully shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tully showed some decent athleticism there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Juras wants to improve his position but Tully is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tully content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Tully throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Tully with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Brynden Tully hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Tully is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tully swats away the attempt to clinch by Juras.
Tully cracks Juras with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Tully connects with a nice looking jab.
Juras walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Tully darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tully shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Juras napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Tully creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Juras sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Juras tries to buck Tully off but Tully is having none of it.
You can see the frustration on Juras's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Juras manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Tully pushes Juras off looking to stand but Juras dives back in and keeps control.
Juras is looking to advance position but Tully won't allow it.
Tully regains full guard. Nicely done.
Tully looking for a sweep. Not yet Tully, not yet.
Tully trying to control the position here.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Tully is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Juras stopping the sweep attempt from Tully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A punch combination from Tully misses.
Tully shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Juras as he avoids it easily.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Good shot there by Tully.
Juras attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Juras is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Tully lands a jab-cross combination.
Tully is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Good exchange - Tully coming out on top.
Juras's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Tully connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Juras scrambles back to his feet.

Tully scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Tully stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Juras tries to clinch up but Tully circles away and keeps his distance.
Tully misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
A cross from Tully lands.
Juras on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Tully jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Tully scores with a nice right hand.
Juras throws a looping overhand right but Tully ducks down to avoid it.
Tully tests Juras's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Juras misses with an uppercut. Tully saw that one coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Juras doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tully connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tully tries for a takedown but Juras sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mamed Juras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brynden Tully.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.

Tully feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Tully is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Tully wants to stand but Juras is controlling his posture from full guard.
Juras is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Tully dives into side control.
Juras knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tully on the ground.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Tully has control of an arm but Juras manages to advance to Tully's back!
Juras doesn't have the hooks in and Tully manages to turn into his guard.
Juras wants to get back to his feet but Tully is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tully with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brynden Tully dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Tully moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Juras gets caught napping as Tully dives in and scores a takedown. Juras manages to retain guard.
Tully wants to stand but Juras is controlling his posture from full guard.
Juras working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tully.
Tully stops Juras from standing up.
Tully controlling from the top position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Brynden Tully wasn't active enough on the ground.

Tully feints and as Juras raises his hands in defense, Tully changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tully sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Juras's guard.

Tully seems to be working for a kimura but Juras defends the submission attempt.
Tully is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Juras is in trouble now - Tully has advanced to mount!
Juras is trying desperately to improve position.
Tully scores with a couple of good head shots there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tully working Juras over with strikes here.

Tully breaks from Juras's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Tully working for a guillotine from mount but Juras is in no mood to give up.
Tully lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tully scoring with strikes but Juras is staying in there.
Tully lands a heavy elbow.

Juras is rocked!
Tully postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Juras is out cold - huge knockout for Tully!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brynden Tully!
A very excited looking Brynden Tully rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
