PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Takeru Kyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Jersey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kyle comes to the cage accompanied by I Like to Move It. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeru Kyle!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Jersey!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jersey throws a sloppy head kick and Kyle moves out of range easily.
Kyle throws a looping overhand right but Jersey ducks down to avoid it.
Jersey misses with a low kick as Kyle jumps back.
Jersey finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Jersey attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Kyle slips a straight right by Jersey.
Kyle misses with an uppercut.
Jersey misses with a low kick.
Kyle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jersey was well out of range. Poor timing from Kyle.
Jersey tried to score with a low kick but Kyle checks it.
Jersey misses with a combination
and Kyle counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Jersey slips under a jab.

Jersey tries to keep at a distance but Kyle has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kyle misses with a punch to the body.
Kyle's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Jersey misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kyle throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Jerseys head.

Kyle gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Kyle throwing shots but Jersey is blocking nicely.
Kyle slips a nice elbow through Jersey's hands, connecting with Jersey's forehead.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kyle is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jersey defends it well.
Jersey has hold of Kyle's hands but Kyle slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Kyle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jersey manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Kyle wants to pass the guard but Jersey is keeping the position.
Kyle advances to half guard.
Kyle not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Kyle is looking for a kimura but Jersey is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kyle to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kyle lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Kyle thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jersey's head.
Kyle works his foot free and advances to mount.

Kyle lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kyle connects with a bit shot that sees Jersey covering up! More strikes from Kyle and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Kyle is our winner by TKO!

In his post fight interview, Takeru Kyle started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
