Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Barry Zuckerkorn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arturo Roturo!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zuckerkorn shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Zuckerkorn showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Roturo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Zuckerkorn prevents Roturo from standing back up.
Roturo is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Zuckerkorn jumps into side control!
Zuckerkorn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roturo on the ground.
Roturo wants to get back to his feet but Zuckerkorn drags him back down.
Roturo is trying to get back to half guard.

Zuckerkorn looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Zuckerkorn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Roturo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Zuckerkorn pulls his head out easily.

Zuckerkorn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Roturo looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Zuckerkorn seems content to control.
Zuckerkorn slips a nice elbow through Roturo's hands, connecting with Roturo's forehead.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Barry Zuckerkorn.

Zuckerkorn rushes Roturo and presses him up against the cage.

Roturo blocks an uppercut.
Roturo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zuckerkorn walks away with a smile on his face. Roturo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Zuckerkorn throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

and Zuckerkorn counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Roturo!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zuckerkorn seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Roturo for as long as he can get away with.
Zuckerkorn has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Zuckerkorn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Zuckerkorn lands in his opponent's guard.
Zuckerkorn is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Roturo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zuckerkorn defends it easily.
Zuckerkorn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Zuckerkorn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Roturo has his foot on Zuckerkorn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Zuckerkorn works his way back into a safe position though.
Zuckerkorn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Roturo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Zuckerkorn is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Roturo.

We're going to have a standup here because Barry Zuckerkorn wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zuckerkorn is pressing down on Roturo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Roturo is holding on for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Zuckerkorn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Roturo enables Zuckerkorn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Roturo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Zuckerkorn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roturo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Roturo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Zuckerkorn is defending well for now.
Roturo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Zuckerkorn just stands there and leans against the cage.
Barry Zuckerkorn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Arturo Roturo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Zuckerkorn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
