PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dimirt Medved (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Burker King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medved on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
King closes the distance and clinches up with Medved, looking for a takedown. King pushes Medved against the cage but Medved circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Medved gets tackled into the cage by King. King maintains the clinch.

King breaks the clinch.

King closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

King jumps guard and drags Medved to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Medved will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Medved won't allow King to sweep him here.

King should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Medved is fighting to break King's control of his arms but King is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Medved postures up in King's guard and throws a big left but King blocks it.

King pushes Medved off and gets back to his feet.

King takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
King shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Medved as he avoids it easily.

Medved gets tackled into the cage by King. King maintains the clinch.
King has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Medved after a bit of a struggle.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - King has eaten all the pies!

King breaks from the clinch.
Medved shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

King closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Medved's guard.

King stands and steps away. Medved gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
King looks winded!
King shoots in but no luck this time.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

King fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Medved, pushing him back against the cage.

King's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
King keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

King pulls Medved into guard.

King looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

King has his feet on Medved's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Medved tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice takedown defense from Medved. No joy for King on that attempt.

King shoots in and drives through. Medved sprawls well.

King jumps into guard, dragging Medved to the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

King throws a sloppy head kick and Medved moves out of range easily.
King tries for a takedown but Medved circles away easily
and Medved counters with a left and a right that stings King.
Medved shoots in looking for a takedown. King tries to sprawl out of it but Medved keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. King manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
King defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Medved.
King goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Dimirt Medved is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Medved gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
King postures up in Medved's guard and throws a big left but Medved blocks it.

Let's hope that King has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Burker King has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

King lands with a nice combination. Medved backs away looking to recover.
Medved stuffs the takedown attempt from King. King gets slowly back to his feet.

Horrible takedown by King or perhaps it was just good defense by Medved which made him look bad.

King dives in and grabs Medved's left leg, looking for a takedown. Medved pushes down on King's head and hops out.
Medved shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Medved's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

King closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Medved tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
King has Medved pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Medved manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
King lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Medved can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

King has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Medved off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Burker King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Medved slaps away a takedown attempt from King, before circling back to the center of the mat.
King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Medved.
King throws a combination. Medved tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

King shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. King showed some decent athleticism there.

King is working for a submission of some sort.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

King is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Medved's half guard.
Medved is looking for a sweep. King is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with King in particular looking to stall.

King moves nicely into side control.
King slows the pace down.
King has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Medved!

Burker King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
