Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Baggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fred Baggins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henry Ball!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baggins tries to clinch there but Ball circles away.
Ball fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ball changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Baggins tries to avoid it but Ball manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Baggins to the ground. Baggins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ball takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ball throws a lazy uppercut
letting Baggins counter with a right hand.


It looks like Henry Ball has been cut.
Baggins with a hook.
Ball misses with a hook
and Ball takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A nice combination there by Baggins.
Baggins takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Baggins fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Baggins takes a swing at Ball's ribcage but misses.
Ball misses the jab.
Baggins misses with a wild body shot.
Baggins moves out of range of the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Baggins keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ball.
Ball on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Baggins walks into a left hand.
Henry Ball seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Baggins fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Ball looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Baggins!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Baggins regains half guard.
Baggins slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Ball throws a strike but Baggins rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Baggins trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ball looking to hit a scissor sweep but Baggins is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baggins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Baggins wants to pass the guard but Ball is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ball working a defensive guard here.
Baggins tries to free his leg and advance position but Ball is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Baggins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baggins wants it to stay on the feet.
Fred Baggins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry Ball.
Good standup being displayed there by Baggins as he connects with a hook.
Ball connects with a right hand. Baggins shakes it off.
Baggins fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Baggins connects with a body shot that sends Ball's belly button to the back.
Ball looks to land a left hand but Baggins moved out of range nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ball takes a swing at Baggins's ribcage but misses.
Ball throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Baggins on the side of the head.
Baggins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Baggins sends Ball crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Baggins is motioning to the referee to let Ball up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Ball is rocked!
Baggins weaves into range and cracks Ball right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Ball goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Baggins is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Fred Baggins!
