The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez stuffs the takedown attempt from Butcher. Butcher gets slowly back to his feet.

Sanchez pushes Butcher up against the cage in a clinch.
Butcher tries for a takedown. No joy.
Butcher avoids a wild elbow strike from Sanchez.

Sanchez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sanchez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Butcher pulls Sanchez in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Sanchez tries to free his leg and advance position but Butcher is retaining full guard.

Diego Sanchez has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Sanchez lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Butcher at a distance.

Sanchez moves into range and clinches up with Butcher.
Butcher is trying to pull guard but Sanchez has him pressed against the cage.
Butcher tries for a takedown but Sanchez manages to get underhooks.
A nice left hand lands by Sanchez.

Sanchez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Butcher regains guard immediately.
Butcher avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Sanchez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Sanchez connects with the punch.
An inside leg kick lands from Sanchez.
A left and a right from Sanchez both land. Nice combination.

Butcher is rocked!

Sanchez closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Butcher out cold! Butcher corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
