Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Loco Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Butch Hayman!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayman shoots in and drives through. Sanchez sprawls well.

Hayman is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sanchez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Loco Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Butch Hayman.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hayman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hayman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanchez's waist but Sanchez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hayman off to one side.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Butch Hayman hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hayman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hayman turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hayman manages to end up in side control.

Sanchez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hayman has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Sanchez is letting Hayman control him for a moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hayman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Hayman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sanchez is looking for a sweep.
Hayman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanchez keeps working.
Hayman takes a little break here. Sanchez wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Sanchez wants to get back to his feet but Hayman drags him back down.

Hayman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sanchez kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sanchez tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Hayman controlling the position well here. Sanchez rolled but Hayman kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Hayman's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Butch Hayman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Hayman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sanchez is just riding it out for now. Hayman eventually gives up the hold.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hayman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
