Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kofi Kingston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nigel Mckall!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingston tries to clinch up.
Kingston shoots in for a takedown but Mckall shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mckall throws a head kick but Kingston moves out of range.
Mckall has a takedown stuffed.
Kingston blocks a head kick by Mckall.
Kingston keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kingston tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mckall sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kingston somewhat.
Mckall looks to clinch

and Kingston counters with a single leg into guard. Mckall didn't expect that.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kingston passes into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kingston seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mckall does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mckall moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Mckall utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mckall can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kingston controls the pace.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mckall is on top in guard.
Kingston is trying to keep Mckall in close.
Mckall stays in close to Kingston's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mckall's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kingston trying to keep a closed guard but Mckall is proving a slippery customer.
Mckall stands up over Kingston, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mckall won't allow Kingston to get back to his feet.
Mckall controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mckall tries to stand but Kingston is controlling from the bottom.
Mckall trying to control but Kingston is working from the bottom.
Mckall landing some decent shots from guard.

Mckall looking to sit in guard and control but Kingston gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kingston wanted to stand there but Mckall had control of the position.
Mckall has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nigel Mckall.
Mckall throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Kingston fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kofi Kingston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kingston is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kingston has managed to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kingston is stalling here.
Kingston is trying to pull guard but Mckall has him pressed against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kofi Kingston will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Mckall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kingston.

Mckall gets caught flat footed, as Kingston shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mckall has a closed guard, preventing Kingston from standing up.
Mckall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mckall trying to keep a closed guard but Kingston is proving a slippery customer.
Mckall wants to get back to his feet but Kingston is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mckall tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Kingston wants to pass the guard but Mckall is keeping the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mckall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kingston manages to get himself to full guard.
Mckall trying to control but Kingston is working from the bottom.

Mckall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mckall passes into half guard.

Mckall is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kingston is just riding it out for now. Mckall eventually gives up the hold.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mckall works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mckall landing punches.
Mckall landing strikes from the mount.

Mckall goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kingston turns into him and now he's in Mckall's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kingston postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kingston controls from within his opponent's guard.

Mckall has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kingston off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Kofi Kingston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mckall scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
No luck for Kingston with that takedown attempt.
Mckall closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Mckall will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kingston looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mckall keeping control of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mckall regains full guard. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nigel Mckall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kingston sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Mckall slaps away a takedown attempt from Kingston, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kingston is looking to clinch but Mckall is avoiding it.
Kofi Kingston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kingston lands a high kick!
Mckall lands a head kick!
Mckall swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mckall throws a head kick that misses.
Kingston misses with a takedown attempt - Mckall sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kingston looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kofi Kingston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kingston tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mckall swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mckall tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kingston manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mckall displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kingston.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kingston avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mckall stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mckall wants it to stay on the feet.

Kingston tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kingston shoots in for a double leg but Mckall sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nigel Mckall seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mckall throws a head kick but Kingston moves out of range.
Mckall circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Kingston drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Mckall follows Kingston to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nigel Mckall!
