Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Salath Sar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kj Barakus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Salath Sar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kj Barakus!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barakus scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sar is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Barakus off and has taken his back!
Sar keeps control of the position as Barakus tries to break free.

Sar is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Barakus defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Barakus rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Sar wants to work for an arm triangle but Barakus is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Barakus is looking to control Sar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barakus avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sar is working for a submission of some sort.
Sar wants to free his trapped foot but Barakus is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Sar is looking for a kimura here.

Sar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Barakus won't allow Sar to pass to mount.
Sar trying to advance position but Barakus counters by regaining guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Barakus is pulling down on Sar's head to control his posture.
Sar looking to pass the guard.
Barakus looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Sar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barakus's guard.

Sar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Barakus defends it well.
Barakus is trying is best to control the position here.
Barakus pushes Sar off looking to stand but Sar dives back in and keeps control.

Sar seems to be looking for submissions.
Barakus is looking to control Sar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barakus avoid being mounted?
Sar working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Barakus's thigh. Barakus counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Barakus looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Sar postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Barakus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sar, into his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sar is looking to stand up but Barakus isn't so interested in that idea.

Barakus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barakus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Salath Sar will probably get the nod.
That's time! Sar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Sar lands with a straight right. Barakus didn't see that one coming.
Sar has his takedown stuffed

and Barakus counters with a shoot takedown. Sar fights it but they end up in guard.
Barakus works over Sar with some ground and pound from guard.
Sar wants to sweep here but Barakus controlling him for the moment.
Barakus trying to control the position from guard on top but Sar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Barakus might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sar kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sar looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Barakus has picked Sar up and slammed him! Sar can't keep hold of the triangle and Barakus manages to pass to side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sar is staying active underneath Barakus, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kj Barakus has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sar tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Barakus manages to move to mount!
Barakus lands with some strikes.

Barakus is working for a guillotine from mount but Sar frees his head quite easily.
Barakus is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Sar tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Barakus stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Sar fails with a takedown attempt.
Sar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barakus but Barakus pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Salath Sar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sar slips a jab and a cross from Barakus.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A telegraphed right hand from Sar misses the target.
Sar connects with a looping right hand.


It looks like Kj Barakus has been cut.
Sar fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Barakus misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Barakus fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sar avoids it really well and circles away.
Sar feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Barakuss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Salath Sar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Barakus decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sar's guard.
Barakus trying to control but Sar is working from the bottom.

Barakus drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Barakus as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Sar screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Barakus! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Kj Barakus!
Kj Barakus seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
