Newman's entrance music is Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can`t Stop. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Newman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rex Crawford!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Crawford throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Crawford has a takedown stuffed.
Newman cracks Crawford with an open hand slap.
Newman moves away from the strike by Crawford.
Crawford is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Newman.
Newman takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rex Crawford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Newman tries a low kick but Crawford avoids it.

Crawford moves into range and clinches up with Newman.
Newman is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Crawford pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A punch combination from Crawford misses.
Crawford scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Newman doesn't seem bothered though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Crawford is trying hard to land a takedown here. Newman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Paul Newman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Crawford.

Newman cracks Crawford with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Newman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Crawford.

Newman catches Crawford napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Crawford to the canvas!

Crawford escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Newman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Crawford has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Newman has passed into side control.
Crawford seems to have recovered his senses.

Newman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Newman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Newman in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Newman decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Newman shoots in looking for a takedown. Crawford tries to sprawl out of it but Newman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Crawford manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Newman tries to score with a low kick but Crawford moves his leg out of the way.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Newman dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Newman is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Crawford like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Crawford from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Newman!
An out of breath Paul Newman thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
