Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leo Spartan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and White Sons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sons looking to score a takedown here. Spartan is defending well but Sons drives through and ends up in Spartan's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sons working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Spartan's head.

Sons is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sons postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Spartan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sons, into his guard.

Sons had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Spartan defends it easily.
Spartan wants to stand but Sons is controlling his posture from full guard.

Sons isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Spartan stacks Sons on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Spartan!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spartan creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Sons lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Spartan!
Sons throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Sons misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Poor strikes thrown by Sons there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sons is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Spartan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Spartan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sons on the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Spartan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sons has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Spartan has managed to get both his arms back between Sons's legs - danger averted.
Spartan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sons's head.
Spartan is in close to Sons's body, working some short punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

White Sons dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Spartan moves into range and clinches up with Sons.

Sons gets tackled into the cage by Spartan. Spartan maintains the clinch.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Sons. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Spartan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sons is still on wobbly legs! Can Spartan finish him?
Spartan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sons.

Spartan breaks from the clinch.
Sons shoots in but Spartan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Spartan moves into range and connects with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Spartan closes the distance looking for a takedown. Sons stuffs it but Spartan still has hold of him. Spartan picks Sons up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Spartan slams Sons to the floor and that's really hurt Sons - he doesn't know where he is! Spartan throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
