PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dante Alastair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Sanderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alastair kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is The End by Roadrunner United. The key to victory for Dante Alastair has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Sanderson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanderson is looking to clinch but Alastair is avoiding it.

Sanderson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Sanderson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Alastair is trying to stand back up but Sanderson is controlling him

Alastair is trying to maintain the position but Sanderson is very close to passing his half guard.

Sanderson is keen to just control but Alastair is a slippery customer.

Alastair manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Alastair tries to bum rush Sanderson with a series of wild strikes but Sanderson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Sanderson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Sanderson is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Sanderson gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Sanderson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Sanderson apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sanderson swings for the body but Alastair moves out of range.
Alastair throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Sanderson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Alastair won't be happy with that.
Alastair is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Ben Sanderson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sanderson throws an elbow but Alastair slips to the side and avoids it well.
Alastair is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sanderson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ben Sanderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sanderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
