PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brian Finch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lex Scrappy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Finch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lex Scrappy!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scrappy tries to avoid it but Finch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scrappy to the ground. Scrappy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Scrappy gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Scrappy gets underhooks to prevent Finch's takedown attempt.
Scrappy slows down the pace here.
Scrappy misses with a knee to the head.
Scrappy stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Finch has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Scrappy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Finch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Finch tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Scrappy smiles and moves away.
Scrappy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Finch manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Finch gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Scrappy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Scrappy cracks Finch with a solid left hand.
Scrappy content to stall in guard here.
Scrappy wants to control from the top but Finch keeps moving.
Scrappy is stalling in the full guard.
Scrappy wants to pass the guard but Finch is keeping the position.

Lex Scrappy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Finch shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Scrappy counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Scrappy postures up and lands a big shot to Finch's brow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Finch looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Finch is breathing heavily.
Scrappy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Scrappy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Scrappy won't allow Finch to get back to his feet.
Scrappy scoring with some ground and pound.
Scrappy with a flurry of punches that miss.
Scrappy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Finch's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scrappy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Finch works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Finch has momentary wrist control but Scrappy slips an elbow through the middle.

Finch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Scrappy engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Scrappy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Scrappy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Scrappy makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Finch could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Scrappy controls from within his opponent's guard.
Scrappy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Scrappy postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Finch being controlled here, momentarily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lex Scrappy was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Scrappy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lex Scrappy dominated that round.
That's time! Finch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Scrappy trying to control the action but Finch is working from the bottom.

Scrappy looks up at the clock and then as Finch takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Scrappy smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Scrappy is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Finch's shoulder. That is not cool.

Scrappy slows the pace down.
Let's hope that Scrappy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Finch is looking for a sweep.

Scrappy looks up at the clock and then as Finch takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Scrappy smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Scrappy throws a strike aimed at the side of Finch's head but Finch avoids it well.
Finch is working to avoid the ground and pound but Scrappy connects with a decent elbow.
Finch might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Scrappy is looking to take a break and control but Finch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Scrappy lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Finch down.
Scrappy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Scrappy is chipping away with strikes.
A lull in the action here.
Scrappy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Finch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Scrappy wants to control but Finch is keeping him busy.
Scrappy landing strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Finch can't do much from the bottom here.

Finch takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Scrappy tries to advance to mount but can't.
Finch gets back to half guard.
Finch keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Scrappy thows a huge punch but Finch dodges it nicely.
Scrappy keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Scrappy landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Scrappy working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Scrappy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Scrappy lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Scrappy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Scrappy winds up and cracks Finch with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Scrappy content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scrappy looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lex Scrappy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Finch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Finch is in a horrible position here. Scrappy smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Scrappy cracks Finch with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Finch is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Finch is rocked!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Scrappy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Oh Finch is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Scrappy! Finch is hurt baaadly! Scrappy is firing away with more strikes - Finch is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lex Scrappy!
