Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duane Dube (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Shields!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Duane Dube!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dube fails with a takedown attempt.

Shields looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Dube is working an open guard so Shields takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Shields moves into the clinch.
Shields prevents the takedown attempt.
Dube wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dube is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Shields ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Shields no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Dube drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dube jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dube wants to control from the top but Shields keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shields is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dube shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shields pinned against the cage. Shields gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tyson Shields has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Duane Dube.

Shields closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shields lands in his opponent's guard.

Dube looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shields is one step ahead there.
Shields wanted to stand there but Dube had control of the position.

Dube pushes Shields off looking to stand but Shields dives back in and keeps control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Dube shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shields defends it nicely.

Shields gets a takedown into half guard.
Shields thows a huge punch but Dube dodges it nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shields is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dube is trying to maintain the position but Shields is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shields stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shields wants it to stay on the feet.

Shields has Dube pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Shields pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dube tumbling to the mat - Shields dives into Dube's guard.

Dube had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shields defends it easily.
Shields sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dube's guard.

Shields with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Shields looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dube looks like he's trying to stand up.

Shields thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Dube gets full guard.
Tyson Shields overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dube has his foot on Shields's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shields works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Shields shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dube as he jumps to the side.

and Shields counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dube won't be happy with that.

Shields is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dube is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Shields tries to stand but can't do so whilst Dube controls his leg.
Shields takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dube is looking for a sweep. Shields is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Dube has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shields is working away from the top position though.

Duane Dube has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Some bone on bone action there as Shields checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Shields pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Shields throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dube tries to close the distance and clinch but Shields swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shields gets the takedown into side control.
Dube wants to control but Shields postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Shields tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shields has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dube is trying to control Shields's posture but Shields avoids it.
Dube tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shields wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shields decides to stand back up. Shields steps back and let's Dube get back to his feet.
Duane Dube has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tyson Shields is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Shields closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tyson Shields showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Shields has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
