PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Nugent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nugent has chosen Stranglehold, Ted Nugent as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Nugent!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Viktor Lagutenko and Konstantin Menshow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nugent misses with a low kick.
Nugent throws a nice looking combination but Hart bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nugent wants to slow Hart down by chopping away at his legs.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hart.
Hart throws a head kick that Nugent semi-blocks.

It looks like Ted Nugent has been cut.
Hart throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nugent misses with a hook.
Hart throws a nice outside leg kick.

Nugent shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Nugent is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hart doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nugent.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nugent accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nugent won't allow Hart to sweep him here.

Hart bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nugent's guard.

Nugent has his foot on Hart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hart works his way back into a safe position though.
Hart wants to control from the top but Nugent keeps moving.

Nugent is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hart is aware though and is defending well.

Nugent escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hart gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nugent working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hart chips away with some ground and pound.

Nugent has an active guard here but Hart has managed to pass into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hart turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Hart connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hart attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Ted Nugent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nugent throws the left hand but Hart avoids the punch easily.
Nugent finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nugent pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Nugent tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hart was well out of range. Poor timing from Nugent.
Hart lands with a kick to the temple. Nugent shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Hart throws a nice inside leg kick.

Nugent jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nugent scores with a sloppy right hand. Hart should have avoided that one.
Nugent sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Hart shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nugent napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Nugent tries to bench press Hart off him but Hart keeps the position.
Hart is putting a hurting on Nugent here, landing some big shots from side control.
Ted Nugent has got the better of the ground game so far.

Nugent gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Nugent is positioning himself well to prevent Hart advancing to mount.
Nugent has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hart is working away from the top position though.

Hart looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nugent with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hart is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nugent is just riding it out for now. Hart eventually gives up the hold.

Hart takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hart connects with a nice short shot to Nugent's temple.

Nugent is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hart's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hart's back!

Hart fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nugent has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hart throws a leg kick which misses Nugent's front leg but catches the back leg as Nugent tries to avoid it.
A slapping body kick lands there for Hart.

Nugent throws a leg kick but Hart sees it coming and moves out of range.

Hart lands with a thumping leg kick.
A head kick misses from Hart.
Nugent closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hart circles away.
Sam Hart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Nugent.
Nugent takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nugent fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hart manages to avoid it.
Hart lands a head kick. Nugent smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nugent lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hart has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hart and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Hart throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nugent just misses with a punch to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nugent fails with the takedown.
Nugent's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Nugent manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hart on his heels. He'll look to pass Hart's guard now, I'm sure.
