PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mia St John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Dillashaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think St John might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Bitch is back. Dillashaw has chosen Jump Around-House of Pain as his entrance music. Mia St John had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mia St John!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, TJ Dillashaw!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillashaw is trying hard to land a takedown here. St John sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dillashaw slips a jab and a cross from St John.
St John misses with a two punch combination.
St John fails to land with a series of punches.
Dillashaw fails with a takedown attempt.
St John shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dillashaw eats them both and turns towards St John to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Dillashaw closes the distance and clinches up with St John, looking for a takedown. Dillashaw pushes St John against the cage but St John circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mia St John has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TJ Dillashaw.
St John misses with a combination

and Dillashaw counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Dillashaw is stalling in the full guard.

St John escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dillashaw gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
St John wants to stand up but Dillashaw is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dillashaw controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
St John wants to get back to his feet but Dillashaw passes into half guard.

St John looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Dillashaw stops St John from getting back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Dillashaw seems content to control.
Dillashaw's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Dillashaw is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. St John doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dillashaw.
Dillashaw is controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. TJ Dillashaw was stalling too much, according to the referee.
St John lands a jab-cross combination.
St John throws a series of punches but Dillashaw moves out of range.
Dillashaw shoots in for a takedown but St John shows good takedown defense.
St John throws a combination that misses

and Dillashaw counters with a nice double leg into side control. St John won't be happy with that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dillashaw is looking to take a break and control but St John is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
St John tries to escape but Dillashaw is in control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
St John tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

St John is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dillashaw gets his way!
St John trying to get back to his feet but Dillashaw is in full control for now.

Dillashaw working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
St John is trying to stand back up.
I would not like to be St John right now.

Dillashaw is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but St John has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dillashaw has good solid back control here.

Dillashaw is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. St John has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Dillashaw has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! St John taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Dillashaw doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). TJ Dillashaw!
In his post fight interview, TJ Dillashaw gave a big smile as he said 'Just Like I said im gonna beat him so bad.I just give him an ass whoppin,And look at him PITY,WEAK,DOUCHE,and DISGUSTING OLD MAN..LETS JUST BE HONEST MAN HES A CLOWN IN THE SPORT,a REJECT,THE SPORT DOESNT NEED HIM.GO HOME AND FIND ANOTHER JOB,YOU DONT BELONG HERE.'.
