Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ford's entrance music is For What It's Worth. A fine choice. Washington comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Forget you-Cee-Lo Green (Orginal version unedited) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jason Washington struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Jason Washington has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Eric Ford's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Ford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Washington!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Ford moves into the clinch.
Ford scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Washington lands a hook to the side of the head.
Washington struggles to land a body shot inside as Ford controls his hands.
Washington lands a body punch in the clinch.

Ford pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Washington fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ford looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ford wants to clinch up but Washington keeps it at a distance.
Washington thows a leg kick but Ford checks it

and Ford counters with a nice double leg into side control. Washington won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ford is working Washington over with some ground and pound from side control.
Washington prevents Ford from moving into mount.
Ford lands an elbow.

Ford tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Washington parries the strikes from Ford easily there. Ford is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Washington to escape.
Ford trying to control the position but Washington is working away.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Ford tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ford has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ford wants to control but Washington is keeping him busy.

Washington is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Ford looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Ford working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ford in side control lands a decent elbow.

Ford cracks Washington with a big right hand but Washington just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Ford scores with punches from side control.
Ford landing strikes.
Washington really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ford. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A lull in the action here.
Ford connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Washington some visible discomfort.
Ford in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Washington looks winded!

Ford is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Washington knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ford has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Washington is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Ford yanks on the arm and Washington is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Ford.
