Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Magnus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viny Fay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Viny Fay was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fay fails with the takedown
and Magnus counters with a nice kick to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Magnus. No joy for Fay on that attempt.
Magnus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Magnus fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Fay has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Magnus tries a head kick but it misses.
Magnus fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Fay closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Magnus to the mat! Magnus manages to get full guard.
Magnus wants to get back to his feet but Fay is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Fay dives in and grabs Magnus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Magnus pushes down on Fay's head and hops out.
Fay shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Magnus as he avoids it easily.

Fay drops back, looking for a kneebar! Magnus looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Magnus looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Magnus!
Fay tries to improve position but can't.
Magnus wants to control but Fay is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fay manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Fay has his foot on Magnus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Magnus works his way back into a safe position though.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Magnus is posturing up here but Fay has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Magnus tries to roll out but it's too tight and Magnus has to tap! Slick submission there by Fay!
