Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Amun Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Alverez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Alverez's choice of entrance music: ALL DAY. Mike Alverez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Alverez!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut there from Alverez.
Ra shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alverez as he jumps to the side.
Alverez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Alverez.
Ra takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Ra dives in and scores a takedown into Alverez's guard.
Alverez wants to sweep here but Ra controlling him for the moment.

Ra stands up over Alverez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Ra changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alverez tries to avoid it but Ra manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alverez to the ground. Alverez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alverez stuns Ra with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Ra looks for a takedown but Alverez sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Amun Ra. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ra with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Alverez to score with a decent uppercut.
Ra bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ra fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alverez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ra back to the cage. Alverez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Alverez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alverez throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Ra to counter with a crisp jab.
Alverez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ra's head.
Ra will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alverez.
Ra misses with a takedown attempt - Alverez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Alverez throws a lazy right hand but Ra sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ra takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Alverez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ra counters with a stiff right hand.
Alverez looks for the body kick but Ra saw that one coming.
Alverez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Alverez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alverez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Ra shoots in for a takedown but Alverez shows good takedown defense.
Alverez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
