PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Inglorious Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien OQuinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). OQuinn has chosen Kocky-Tech N9ne as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Damien OQuinn was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Damien OQuinn!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard lands with an overhand left.
Bastard slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Bastard goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Damien OQuinn has been cut.
Bastard works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

OQuinn is rocked!
OQuinn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bastard circles away.
Bastard misses with a head kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bastard stuffs the takedown attempt from OQuinn. OQuinn gets slowly back to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Bastard uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before OQuinn has time to react.

OQuinn is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bastard sees it coming and defends easily.

OQuinn wants to take his opponent's back but instead Bastard manages to regain half guard.

OQuinn wants to free his trapped foot but Bastard is holding on for dear life with his legs.

OQuinn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

OQuinn is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Bastard reverses the position - he's now on top in OQuinn's guard.

Bastard wants to take a breather but OQuinn is having none of it.

Bastard is just content to waste time from the top position. OQuinn takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

OQuinn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bastard is aware though and is defending well.

Bastard unloads a knee to the mid-section. OQuinn lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
OQuinn tries for a takedown but Bastard manages to get underhooks.
Bastard is looking to control OQuinn's arms but OQuinn gets an underhook and turns him. Now Bastard has his back to the cage.

Bastard wants to break the clinch but can't.

Bastard tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and OQuinn avoids it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

OQuinn moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bastard has worked his arm free - good work by Bastard!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OQuinn is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Bastard is defending well though. OQuinn let's go of the attempt for now.

OQuinn pushes down on Bastard's leg and manages to get into half guard.

OQuinn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bastard is just riding it out for now. OQuinn eventually gives up the hold.

OQuinn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bastard swivels though and keeps the full guard.
OQuinn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bastard's guard.

Damien OQuinn has got the better of the ground game so far.

OQuinn takes Bastard's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Bastard is in trouble.

OQuinn is persistently looking for the submission but Bastard is defending it well.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

OQuinn is not going to allow Bastard to sit and survive in this position.
