PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sherman Calibrisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calibrisi has chosen Etho - The Godfather Theme (Dubstep Remix) as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Ryder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sherman Calibrisi!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryder keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Calibrisi looks to clinch
and Ryder counters with a stiff right hand.

and Ryder counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nice takedown defense from Ryder. No joy for Calibrisi on that attempt.
Ryder slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Jack Ryder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sherman Calibrisi.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ryder is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ryder fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Calibrisi sprawls well initially but Ryder persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Ryder knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Calibrisi on the ground.

Ryder tightens his grip and picks Calibrisi up, before dumping him to the ground. Calibrisi manages to land in guard.

Ryder got a little sloppy there for a moment and Calibrisi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ryder has managed to get both his arms back between Calibrisi's legs - danger averted.

Calibrisi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ryder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ryder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ryder connects with a nice short shot to Calibrisi's temple.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ryder, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
