Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Turu Ropuia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Turu Ropuia!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cormier moves into the clinch successfully.
Cormier gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Turu Ropuia has been cut.
Cormier lands an elbow inside that Ropuia shrugs off.
Cormier working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Ropuia tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cormier lands an elbow inside that Ropuia shrugs off.
Ropuia is trying to break the clinch but Cormier has him pressed against the cage.

Cormier lands a vicious elbow to the side of Ropuia's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Cormier tries to finish him with strikes but Ropuia still seems able to defend himself so Cormier steps back and lets Ropuia get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.

Ropuia is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cormier gets a clinch.
Ropuia is still on wobbly legs! Can Cormier finish him?
Cormier is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Clinched against the cage, Cormier lands a big elbow that drops Ropuia! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Ropuia is complaining that he's OK but he was done.

A relieved looking Daniel Cormier thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
