Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Isaac Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hideaki Murakami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin comes to the cage accompanied by Ain't That A Kick In The Head. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Isaac Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideaki Murakami!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murakami closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Murakami has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Martin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Martin breaks the clinch.
Murakami dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Murakami scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Murakami is working for takedown but Martin is calmly controlling the position for now.

Martin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Murakami can't fight it off and eventually Martin manages to take the fight to the floor. Murakami looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Murakami is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murakami wants to get back to his feet but Martin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Martin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Murakami has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Martin has managed to get both his arms back between Murakami's legs - danger averted.
Martin wants to control from the top but Murakami keeps moving.

Martin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Murakami, up you get!
Murakami closes this distance looking for a takedown but Martin circles away.
Isaac Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hideaki Murakami.

Murakami slips a jab and a cross from Martin.

Murakami tries to keep at a distance but Martin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Murakami lands a shoulder strike.

Murakami escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Martin throws a series of punches but Murakami avoids them all with ease.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Murakami rushes Martin and presses him up against the cage.
Murakami wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Martin wants to break the clinch but can't.

Martin pulls guard effortlessly.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Murakami drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Martin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Murakami has Martin in his guard.
Martin won't allow Murakami to sweep him here.
Martin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Murakami on the ground.
Martin lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Murakami is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Martin stands up and waves to Murakami to follow him.

Murakami clinches up with Martin and pushes him back against the cage.

Martin jumps guard and drags Murakami to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Martin wants to stand up but Murakami is controlling him.
Murakami would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Murakami postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Martin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Murakami, into his guard.

Martin is in close to Murakami's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Martin won't allow Murakami to sweep him here.

Martin wants to control from the top but Murakami keeps moving.
Martin wants to pass the guard but Murakami is keeping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Murakami working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Martin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Martin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Murakami has his foot on Martin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martin works his way back into a safe position though.

Murakami has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hideaki Murakami dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Martin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Murakami moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Martin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Murakami moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Murakami is looking for a triangle but Martin pushes his legs off easily.
Martin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Martin cracks Murakami with a solid left hand.
Martin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murakami swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Martin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Murakami is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Martin closes the distance and clinches.

Murakami pushes off an throws an elbow but Martin leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Martin gets control of Murakami's arms and successfully pulls guard. Martin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Murakami stands up from Martin's guard - Murakami perhaps looking for a knockout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Murakami enables Martin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Murakami manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Murakami bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Martin's guard.

Martin is working Murakami over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Isaac Martin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Martin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Murakami on his heels. He'll look to pass Murakami's guard now, I'm sure.

Murakami might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Martin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Murakami is working for a kimura but Martin is defending it quite comfortably.
Martin tries to kick Murakami off but Murakami keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Murakami in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Martin tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Murakami!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hideaki Murakami!
After winning the bout, Hideaki Murakami thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
