Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dick Trikkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luther Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega clobbers Trikkle with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Trikkle looks to clinch
letting Vega counter with a right hand.
Trikkle throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Vega.

It looks like Luther Vega has been cut.
Trikkle lands a really nice looking cross but Vega seems unphased.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Trikkle moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Trikkle tries to clinch but Vega moves out of range.
Vega looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Vega throws a body kick that misses
and Trikkle counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Vega cracks Trikkle with an open hand slap.
Vega lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Vega throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Vega has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Trikkle moves in looking to clinch but Vega pushes him off.

Trikkle stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Vega.

and Vega counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Trikkle takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Vega throws a hook to the side of Trikkle's head but Trikkle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Vega wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Trikkle misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vega connects with an inside leg kick.
Trikkle throws a right and a left that Vega avoids nicely.
Trikkle moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vega, right into the meat.
Trikkle throws a sloppy head kick and Vega moves out of range easily.
Trikkle scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Trikkle lands a nice hook to Vega's body. Vega takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vega closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Trikkle takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Trikkle takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Vega happy to just control the position for now.
Vega lands a few punches from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trikkle tries to buck Vega off but he can't manage it.
The referee warns Trikkle that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Vega lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Trikkle has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Vega's lack of action.
Trikkle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vega on the ground.

Trikkle has hold of Vega's hands but Vega slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vega seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Vega lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Trikkle quite badly. Trikkle pulls Vega in close trying to recover. Vega postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Trikkle on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Trikkle doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
