The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Claus is defended easily by Hoe.
Hoe scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hoe, right into the meat.
Claus leaves Hoe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hoe throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Claus tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hoe is in Claus's guard.

Claus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hoe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's time! Claus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hoe, as that shot connected.
Hoe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed right hand from Hoe misses the target.

Hoe keeps Claus at a distance using the push kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hoe enables Claus to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hoe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Claus wants to pass the guard but Hoe is keeping the position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hoe is on top in guard.

Claus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hoe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hoe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Claus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Claus postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hoe is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Claus, into his guard.

Claus shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hoe manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hoe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Claus's guard.
