Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Dickson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Te Rua!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Te Rua shoots in and gets a takedown into Dickson's guard.
Dickson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Te Rua is looking to work some ground and pound but Dickson has wrist control.
Te Rua tries to stand but Dickson is controlling from the bottom.
Dickson trying to keep a closed guard but Te Rua is proving a slippery customer.

Joe Dickson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Te Rua is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dickson's half guard.

Dickson kicks off Te Rua and gets to his feet.

Dickson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Dickson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Te Rua gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dickson trying to keep a closed guard but Te Rua is proving a slippery customer.
Dickson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Te Rua must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Dickson wants to sweep here but Te Rua controlling him for the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

We're going to have a standup here because Joe Dickson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Dickson gets caught napping as Te Rua dives in and scores a takedown. Dickson manages to retain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Te Rua looks winded!

Dickson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Te Rua has his hands clasped together but Dickson extends an breaks Te Rua's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Dickson.
