Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charles Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sami Sykloni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sykloni comes into a darkened arena with his song building. David Arkenstone - Carrickfergus kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Sami Sykloni told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Sykloni, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A good leg kick by Harper.
Harper throws a nice inside leg kick.
A big left from Sykloni misses.
Sykloni throws a low kick but Harper avoids it.
Sami Sykloni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harper tries to work over Sykloni's front leg with a kick but Sykloni checks it.
Sykloni fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Harper manages to avoid it.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Harper does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Harper doesn't manage to clinch there - Sykloni circles away.

Harper gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sykloni to score an easy takedown into full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Harper lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Harper lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sykloni has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sykloni and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Sykloni lands a nice shot to the body.
Harper fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sykloni.
Harper takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Sykloni turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Harper closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Sykloni's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Harper throws a low kick, looking for Sykloni's leg but Sykloni calmly moves out of range.
Harper connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Harper throws a leg kick which misses Sykloni's front leg but catches the back leg as Sykloni tries to avoid it.

Harper takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Harper takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sykloni is looking to slow Harper down with leg kicks.
Charles Harper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Harper sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Sykloni throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sykloni will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Harper tries to clinch but Sykloni is having none of it.
Sykloni throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Harper on the side of the head.
Harper tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sykloni is able to avoid easily.

Charles Harper really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that STEEL PENN'S 160 OF STEEL $50 Rio logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
