Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jorge Santiago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Natan Grygiel!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grygiel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Santiago looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Santiago might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sloppy strikes there by Grygiel.
Grygiel lands a nice forearm strike.
Santiago sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Santiago actively working from the bottom here.
Grygiel not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Grygiel throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Santiago tries to roll over but Grygiel keeps him under control.
Grygiel wants to take a breather but Santiago is having none of it.

Santiago has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Grygiel is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Grygiel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Grygiel lands in his opponent's guard.

Santiago has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Grygiel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grygiel content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Santiago keeping moving, preventing Grygiel from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Santiago working for a triangle but Grygiel defends it easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Grygiel throws a big right hand that misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Grygiel drops back looking for a leg! Santiago is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Santiago manages to kick Grygiel off! Grygiel jumps back into Santiago's guard.

Grygiel stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Grygiel shoots in looking for a takedown but Santiago manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Grygiel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Natan Grygiel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santiago moves away from the strike by Grygiel.

It looks like Natan Grygiel has been cut.
Grygiel stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Santiago.
Santiago will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Santiago. Grygiel does a little dance to reset his feet.
Grygiel slips a jab from Santiago.
Santiago bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Santiago counters with a nice body kick.

Santiago throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Crunch! Santiago slams his shin into Grygiel's torso.
Santiago lands a leg kick that knocks Grygiel off balance momentarily.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Santiago.
Santiago catches Grygiel with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Grygiel misses with a double jab.

Grygiel takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A chopping leg kick lands by Santiago.
Santiago with a nice cross.
Santiago scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorge Santiago dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Natan Grygiel's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Santiago tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Grygiel misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Decent striking displayed by Santiago there.
Santiago scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Santiago misses with a kick to the body.
Grygiel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Santiago swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Grygiel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Grygiel takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Grygiel is aggressively charging in as Santiago backs up avoiding any damage. Santiago tosses out a jab and Grygiel runs right into it face first! Grygiel is out cold! Santiago dropped down on all fours and is barking in Grygiel's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jorge Santiago!
Jorge Santiago looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'Whether you love Desoto or you hate Desoto, you must love Desoto for I keep your bed warm and you women satisfied.'.
