The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morrison bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Morrison decides to stand back up.
Morrison explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Hammer has his takedown stuffed

and Morrison decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hammer's guard.
Hammer thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Morrison controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hammer wants to sweep here but Morrison controlling him for the moment.
Hammer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Hammer keeping moving, preventing Morrison from controlling successfully.

Morrison gets to his feet. Hammer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Morrison wants to slow Hammer down by chopping away at his legs.

A lazy body kick from Hammer
and Morrison counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Morrison closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Hammer shoots in but Morrison avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Morrison tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hammer paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Morrison scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hammer missing with punches from the bottom.

Hammer is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Morrison seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morrison escapes and gets back to his feet.
Morrison throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hammer thuds his shin into the meat of Morrison's side.
Morrison is breathing heavily.

Hammer tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Morrison counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morrison is looking to take a break and control but Hammer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hammer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Morrison wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Morrison wants to stand but Hammer is controlling his arm.
Hammer tries to buck Morrison off but Morrison is having none of it.
Morrison avoids the strikes from the bottom by Hammer.

Morrison tries for a kimura but Hammer is defending well.
Hammer is looking for a sweep.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Morrison in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Morrison misses with a body shot.
Morrison connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Hammer! He's out on his feet! Morrison rushes in and drops Hammer with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
