PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Overdose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deshawn Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Overdose comes to the cage accompanied by Powerthirst. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overdose scores with the left hand. Wallace knows he should have avoided that one.
Overdose throws a hook but Wallace avoids it easily.
Wallace doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Overdose counters with a body kick that stops Wallace in his tracks momentarily.

Wallace shoots in and bounces Overdose off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Deshawn Wallace has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Overdose bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Overdose throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Overdose displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wallace.
Overdose thows a body kick. Wallace tries to catch it but that hurt him.

and Overdose counters with a slapping leg kick.

Wallace is trying to work for a kimura but Overdose is defending well.
Overdose keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Wallace tries to pass the half guard into mount. Overdose knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Wallace is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Overdose is staying active underneath Wallace, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Wallace not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Wallace is trying to control the action in half guard but Overdose is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Wallace wants to lay and pray for a moment but Overdose keeps working.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Deshawn Wallace wasn't active enough on the ground.
Wallace fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A decent looking cross lands there for Overdose.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown but Overdose shows good takedown defense.
Overdose throws a looping overhand right but Wallace ducks down to avoid it.
Overdose defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wallace.

That's time! Overdose's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Overdose fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wallace manages to avoid it.
A big right from Overdose misses.
Wallace tries to score a power double leg takedown but Overdose sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wallace somewhat.

A slow jab from Overdose misses its intended target.
Wallace closes the distance and clinches up with Overdose, looking for a takedown. Wallace pushes Overdose against the cage but Overdose circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wallace drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Wallace feints and as Overdose raises his hands in defense, Wallace changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wallace is stalling in the full guard.
Overdose will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wallace throwing strikes from guard but Overdose blocks nicely.

Wallace is looking to advance position but Overdose has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Wallace tries to hold on but Overdose postures up.
BOOM! Overdose connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The referee warns Wallace that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Poor strikes thrown by Overdose there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Overdose lands a big shot to the head and Wallace winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
