PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gyawang Lhad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Veldrane Sengir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lhad's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Iced Earth - Anthem. Veldrane Sengir is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gyawang Lhad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Veldrane Sengir!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lhad looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Sengir shoots in but no luck this time.
Lhad jabs at Sengir's body.
Lhad throws a head kick but Sengir moves out of range.
Sengir misses the shot to the body.
Lhad throws a front kick that sends Sengir stumbling back into the cage.

Lhad forces Sengir back against the cage and clinches.

Lhad jumps guard and drags Sengir to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lhad is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lhad on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lhad tries to get out of the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sengir is stalling in the full guard.

Sengir drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lhad dives on top into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lhad lands a couple of elbows.
Lhad looking to sit in guard and control but Sengir gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Lhad avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Lhad throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Sengir trying to control the position from guard on top but Lhad is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Veldrane Sengir has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Sengir shoots in for a double leg but Lhad sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lhad with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Lhad thows a body kick. Sengir tries to catch it but that hurt him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sengir checks the leg kick.
Sengir shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lhad pinned against the cage. Lhad gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gyawang Lhad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Veldrane Sengir.

Lhad gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sengir drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lhad lands an elbow that stopped Sengir in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Veldrane Sengir has been cut.

Lhad manages to break the clinch.
Lhad fails to land with a series of punches.
Sengir keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Horrible takedown by Sengir or perhaps it was just good defense by Lhad which made him look bad.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sengir on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gyawang Lhad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lhad fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lhad will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sengir shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lhad as he jumps to the side.
Lhad throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Sengir.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lhad thows a body kick. Sengir tries to catch it but that hurt him.
A nice inside leg kick there by Lhad. That's going to slow Sengir down.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sengir is looking to clinch but Lhad is avoiding it.
Lhad lands a nice hook to Sengir's body. Sengir takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sengir looks winded!
Lhad throws a head kick but Sengir moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gyawang Lhad dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Veldrane Sengir's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sengir shoots for a double leg takedown but Lhad sprawls well. He's pushed Sengir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sengir takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lhad fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sengir has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A head kick from Lhad lands but Sengir takes it in his stride.
Lhad lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lhad closes the distance and clinches up with Sengir, looking for a takedown. Lhad pushes Sengir against the cage but Sengir circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lhad turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Sengir shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

A jab-cross combination lands for Lhad and sends Sengir crashing to the mat! Lhad follows him down to the mat - Sengir regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Sengir is rocked!

That has opened up Veldrane Sengir's cut even more.
Sengir keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Sengir is still in real trouble! Can Lhad finish him?
Sengir is staying active underneath Lhad, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sengir is breathing heavily.
Lhad lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Lhad lands a big elbow - Sengir is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Lhad!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gyawang Lhad!
A relieved looking Gyawang Lhad thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
