These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rasputin Briar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mick Smithwick!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briar misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smithwick.
Briar fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Smithwick tries to clinch but Briar is having none of it.
Mick Smithwick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Briar ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Briar could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Smithwick tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Briar counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Smithwick moves to clinch but Briar breaks away
and Briar counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smithwick thinking.

Smithwick has taken the fight to the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Smithwick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Briar is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Briar tries to work over Smithwick's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Briar is trying to break the clinch but Smithwick has him pressed against the cage.
Smithwick tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Briar's elbow.
Smithwick scores with a nice hook to the head.
Smithwick lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Briar backwards.


It looks like Rasputin Briar has been cut.
Smithwick is working Briar over against the cage.
Briar is breathing heavily.
Smithwick lands a right hand.
Smithwick makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Smithwick works on Briar's body with a couple of short punches.
Smithwick lands a left hand that snaps the head of Briar backwards.


Briar is rocked!
A right hook to the body lands for Smithwick.
Oh Briar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smithwick creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Briar with a big uppercut! Briar tries to clinch up but Smithwick pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Briar to the mat! Briar covers up and Smithwick unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mick Smithwick!
Our winner, Mick Smithwick, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
