Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hercules Rockefeller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Assman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hercules Rockefeller!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Assman!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockefeller misses with a head kick.

Rockefeller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Assman is looking to improve his position but Rockefeller isn't that keen on the idea.

Rockefeller looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Assman throwing hammer fists to the chest of Rockefeller. What's that going to do exactly?
Assman blocking the ground and pound.
Rockefeller unloads with some shots from mount but Assman bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rockefeller looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Rockefeller working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Assman tries to reverse the position but Rockefeller maintains control.
Assman tries to hold on but Rockefeller postures up.

Assman trying to hold on to Rockefeller's head to control him but Rockefeller postures up.

Rockefeller works his foot free and advances to mount.
Assman is trying desperately to improve position.
Assman gets back to half guard.
Rockefeller is tying to control. Assman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Rockefeller is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Assman has managed to free his arm - good work.
Assman tries to get to full guard but Rockefeller has control of the leg.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Rockefeller wants to take a breather but Assman is having none of it.
Assman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rockefeller is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rockefeller has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Rockefeller looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Assman is looking to get to half guard.
Rockefeller looking to ground and pound but Assman is blocking nicely.
Rockefeller moves to the back.

Rockefeller is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Assman has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Assman is having to fend off submission attempts from Rockefeller, who is looking to sink in the choke. Rockefeller doesn't have the hooks in though and Assman manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Rockefeller is breathing heavily.

Assman scoring with some ground and pound.
Assman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rockefeller looking to control.
Assman wants to control from the top but Rockefeller keeps moving.

Assman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rockefeller dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rockefeller tries to free his leg and advance position but Assman is retaining full guard.
Rockefeller slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Rockefeller thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Assman can't do much from the bottom here.

Rockefeller working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Rockefeller wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Assman, who protects the arm well.

Assman is trying to work for a sweep but Rockefeller has mounted him!
Assman is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Rockefeller looking to ground and pound but Assman is blocking nicely.

A jab from Assman misses.
Hercules Rockefeller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rockefeller shoots in and bounces Assman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Rockefeller drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rockefeller jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rockefeller tries to free his leg and advance position but Assman is retaining full guard.

Assman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rockefeller doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rockefeller manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rockefeller thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Assman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rockefeller can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rockefeller sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Assman's guard.
Assman is breathing heavily.

Assman is trying to get back to full guard.

Rockefeller is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Assman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rockefeller.

Rockefeller is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rockefeller frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Rockefeller looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Assman gets back to half guard.
Rockefeller wants to free his trapped foot but Assman is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Assman is looking to improve his position.
Rockefeller is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Assman reverses the position - he's now on top in Rockefeller's guard.

Rockefeller has his foot on Assman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Assman works his way back into a safe position though.
Assman stands up over Rockefeller, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Assman wants to control from the top but Rockefeller keeps moving.
Hercules Rockefeller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Assman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rockefeller kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Assman thows a big elbow that misses.

Rockefeller had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Assman is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rockefeller Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Assman's back instead.
Assman manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rockefeller's guard. Nice work there by Assman.

Rockefeller looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rockefeller seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Assman wants to control from the top but Rockefeller keeps moving.

Rockefeller escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Assman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rockefeller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Assman is looking to work some ground and pound but Rockefeller has wrist control.

Assman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rockefeller is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rockefeller has escaped and now he's on top!
Rockefeller stands and throws Assman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hercules Rockefeller dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Assman with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rockefeller to score with a decent uppercut.

Hercules Rockefeller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Assman drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


Assman is rocked!
Rockefeller lands a brutal uppercut that launches Assman off his feet! Assman tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hercules Rockefeller!
Hercules Rockefeller retains his lightweight title!
