Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rambo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodrigues has chosen Save My Soul as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leo Rodrigues!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rodrigues to the mat! Rodrigues manages to get full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gracie looking to pass the guard.
Gracie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Gracie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rodrigues wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment.
Gracie engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Rodrigues is trying to keep Gracie in close.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rodrigues sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt - Rodrigues sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Gracie has his takedown stuffed
and Rodrigues counters with a series of strikes. Gracie will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rambo Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rodrigues's waist but Rodrigues gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.

Rodrigues dives in and scores a takedown into Gracie's guard.

Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rodrigues is aware though and is defending well.
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Rodrigues must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gracie has his foot on Rodrigues's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rodrigues works his way back into a safe position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rodrigues wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his posture from full guard.

Gracie looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Rodrigues is sitting in close to Gracie's body. Gracie has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Rodrigues is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Rodrigues is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Gracie.
