PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vic Thory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Sully (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thory might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to It's a fight. Sully has chosen I See You as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Sully!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thory defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sully.
Sully fails with the takedown.
Sully shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thory as he avoids it easily.
Vic Thory has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Sully.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sully. Thory does a little dance to reset his feet.
Thory scores with a sloppy right hand. Sully should have avoided that one.
Sully shoots in looking for a takedown. Thory tries to sprawl out of it but Sully keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thory manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Thory counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sully throws the left hand but Thory avoids the punch easily.
Sully misses with a hook. Thory ducked under it nicely.

and Thory counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Sully throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thory's waist but Thory gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sully off to one side.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sully shoots in for a takedown but Thory shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sully takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sully walks into a jab.
Thory jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Sully is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sully steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Thory.
Sully is still on wobbly legs! Can Thory finish him?
Sully fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sully uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thory.
Thory throws a hook but Sully avoids it easily.
Sully seems to have recovered his senses.
Nice shot by Thory.
Sully jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Thory lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Sully is looking to close the distance but Thory sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Sully crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Sully is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Vic Thory opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
