The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward digs a good body shot into Kylos's ribs.
Kylos does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Ward changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Kylos scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Roberto Kylos hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Kylos gets a double leg takedown into Ward's guard.
Kylos controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Kylos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ward's waist but Ward gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kylos off to one side.

It looks like Roberto Kylos has been cut.

Ward throws a front kick aimed at Kylos's knee but Kylos avoids it well.

Ward is looking to wear down Kylos with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Ward lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Ward throws a nice looking combination but Kylos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Ward lands a big right hand that sends Kylos crashing to the mat! Ward stays standing though and waves Kylos back to his feet!

Kylos fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ward is out of range.
Kylos shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kylos gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Ward gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Kylos is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fred Ward!
