Penn is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Never Get Caught. Steel Penn is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steel Penn!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.


It looks like Steel Penn has been cut.
Clengane throws a body punch but Penn moves out of range.
Penn gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Penn should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Clengane cracks Penn with a good jab.

Clengane closes the distance and pushes Penn back into the cage.

Penn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Clengane sprawls well initially but Penn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Clengane is refusing to be controlled, as Penn sits in half guard.

It looks like Penn might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Clengane is in a horrible position here. Penn smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Penn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Penn is landing with some decent strikes but Clengane is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Penn tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Penn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Penn lands with some strikes.

Penn has control of Clengane's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Clengane regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Clengane is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Penn locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Clengane is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Steel Penn!
