Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Medrado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Overeem kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shadows Fall - Still I Rise. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Overeem gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Medrado wants to improve his position but Overeem is controlling well.

Medrado looking for a kimura from the bottom but Overeem passes into side control!
Medrado can't do much from the bottom here.

Overeem decides to stand back up. Overeem steps back and let's Medrado get back to his feet.
Medrado throws a right and a left that both miss.
Overeem fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Overeem looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Medrado clinches up with Overeem and pushes him back against the cage.

Overeem breaks from the clinch.
Medrado wants to clinch up but Overeem keeps it at a distance.
Sloppy strikes from Overeem. Those never looked like landing.
Overeem misses with a body kick.

Overeem drops Medrado with a left and a right! Oh, Medrado is hurt - Overeem dives into side control looking to finish!

It looks like Jose Medrado has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Medrado tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Overeem wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Medrado looks winded!
Medrado is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Medrado is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Overeem is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Overeem stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Medrado wants to clinch up but Overeem keeps it at a distance.
Medrado fails with an attempt to clinch.
Overeem misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Overeem scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Medrado takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Overeem steps into range and cracks Medrado with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Medrado flops backwards and Overeem dives into his guard looking to finish!

Medrado is rocked!

That has opened up Jose Medrado's cut even more.

Overeem stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Medrado is still on wobbly legs! Can Overeem finish him?
Medrado on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Medrado seems to have recovered his senses.

Overeem moves into the clinch.

Overeem pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Overeem lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Medrado falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
