Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joey Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Falcao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Falcao will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid with a lazy takedown attempt
and Falcao counters with a left and a right that stings Reid.

Reid closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Falcao to the mat! Falcao manages to get full guard.
Reid might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Reid thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Falcao wants to stand up but Reid is controlling him.
Reid trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Falcao wants to sweep here but Reid controlling him for the moment.

Reid drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Falcao manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Reid has Falcao in his guard.
Falcao seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Falcao postures up in Reid's guard and throws a big left but Reid blocks it.

Reid working for a triangle but Falcao defends it easily.

Reid is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Reid has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Falcao can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Reid keeping moving, preventing Falcao from controlling successfully.

Reid looking for a sweep. Not yet Reid, not yet.
Reid could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Falcao wants to stand but Reid has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Reid is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Reid has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Falcao defend it? Reid steps over the head and cranks it - Falcao is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Reid!
