PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Waldemar Moura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Do Fogao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joao Do Fogao told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Do Fogao!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moura lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

It looks like Joao Do Fogao has been cut.
No joy there for Moura, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Do Fogao shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Moura defends it nicely.
Moura throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Do Fogao defending well as Moura loads up on a big left hand.
Do Fogao uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Moura.
No luck for Do Fogao with that takedown attempt.
Moura looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Do Fogao slips a jab and a cross from Moura.
Moura throws a series of punches but Do Fogao avoids them all with ease.
Moura misses with a double jab.
Moura swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Do Fogao dives in and grabs Moura's left leg, looking for a takedown. Moura pushes down on Do Fogao's head and hops out.
Waldemar Moura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joao Do Fogao.

Do Fogao fails with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Do Fogao.
Do Fogao shoots in looking for a takedown but Moura manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Do Fogao's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Do Fogao takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Moura looks to land a combination but Do Fogao avoids it well.
Horrible takedown by Do Fogao or perhaps it was just good defense by Moura which made him look bad.
Moura will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Do Fogao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Moura pinned against the cage. Moura gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Moura throws a series of punches but Do Fogao moves out of range.
Do Fogao dives in and grabs Moura's left leg, looking for a takedown. Moura pushes down on Do Fogao's head and hops out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Do Fogao slips a jab and a cross from Moura.
Moura drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Do Fogao right on the button. Do Fogao goes down! Moura follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Moura gets the win via TKO!

Waldemar Moura tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
