Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cliff Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshal Owen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cliff Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Marshal Owen!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owen scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Henderson fails with a takedown attempt.
A slow jab from Owen misses its intended target.
Owen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Henderson.
Henderson shoots in but Owen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cliff Henderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Owen keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Henderson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Owen throws a jab but it's blocked by Henderson.

Henderson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Henderson is trying to control the action in half guard but Owen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Henderson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Owen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Henderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Henderson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Owen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Henderson.

Henderson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Henderson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Owen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Henderson is one step ahead there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Henderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Owen is looking to stand back up but Henderson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Owen.

Henderson wants to control from the top but Owen keeps moving.

Henderson stands and steps away. Owen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Henderson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Owen but Owen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Owen misses with a hook. Henderson ducked under it nicely.

Henderson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Owen is trying to defend but Henderson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Owen, as that shot connected.
Henderson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Owen sprawls well. Owen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Henderson gets slowly back to his feet.

Owen throws out a powerful jab.
Henderson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Henderson.
Henderson blocks a head kick by Owen.
Owen lands a slapping body shot.
Owen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Owen throws a hook but Henderson avoids it easily.

Henderson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Henderson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Owen was covering up waiting for the punch and Henderson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Owen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Henderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Henderson is pushing down on Owen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Owen is fighting to maintain full guard but Henderson has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cliff Henderson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cliff Henderson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Henderson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
