Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leeroy Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Oakley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dennis Oakley!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Oakley.
Oakley misses with a hook. Russo ducked under it nicely.
Russo misses with a leg kick.
Oakley scores with a decent looking hook.
Russo throws the left hand but Oakley avoids the punch easily.
Russo misses with a head kick.
Russo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Russo tries a head kick but it misses.
Russo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Oakley scores with a nice body kick.
Russo moves in looking to clinch but Oakley pushes him off.
Russo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Oakley chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Oakley looks to score with a jab to the body but Russo is just out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oakley pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Russo misses with an uppercut.
Oakley throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Oakley looks to score with a jab to the body but Russo is just out of range.
A bone on bone clash there as Oakley blocks the leg kick.
Oakley tries a head kick but it misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck for Russo with that takedown attempt.
Oakley lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Russo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Russo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Russo throws a leg kick that is checked
and Oakley counters with a nice body kick.
Leeroy Russo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Russo is breathing heavily.
Russo tries to score with a low kick but Oakley moves his leg out of the way.
Oakley dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Russo. That did some damage!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice body kick there by Oakley.
Oakley connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Oakley throws a head kick that misses.
Oakley misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Russo sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
A jab lands there for Oakley.
A decent looking cross lands there for Oakley.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oakley misses with a body kick.

Oakley lands a big head kick that sends Russo tumbling to the mat! Oakley takes a step backwards and waves Russo back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Russo is rocked!
Oakley slips a jab from Russo.
Oh Russo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Russo drops his hands momentarily. Oakley doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Russo staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Russo doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dennis Oakley!
Dennis Oakley spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
