Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shorty Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Paris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Shorty Gonzalez has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shorty Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Paris!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paris fails with the takedown
and Gonzalez counters with an outside leg kick.
Paris shoots in looking for a takedown but Gonzalez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Paris's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Paris.
Shorty Gonzalez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Craig Paris.
Paris closes the distance and clinches up with Gonzalez, looking for a takedown. Paris pushes Gonzalez against the cage but Gonzalez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Craig Paris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gonzalez tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Paris is able to avoid easily.
Paris closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gonzalez circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Paris sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Paris moves out of range of the leg kick from Gonzalez.

Gonzalez lands a high kick to the side of Paris's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Gonzalez dives into guard, looking to finish.


It looks like Craig Paris has been cut.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Gonzalez throws an elbow that misses. Paris uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gonzalez's guard. Nice move by Paris!

Paris postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gonzalez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Paris, into his guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Paris is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gonzalez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Paris.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paris is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gonzalez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gonzalez has escaped and now he's on top!

Paris is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gonzalez defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paris has his foot on Gonzalez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gonzalez works his way back into a safe position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Paris is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gonzalez defends well.

Gonzalez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Paris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gonzalez has managed to get both his arms back between Paris's legs - danger averted.

Gonzalez has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Paris to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Gonzalez is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Paris pulls down on the head and he's put Gonzalez to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Craig Paris!
