Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Schilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schilt has chosen The Who - Baba O'Riley as his entrance music. Gilbert Schilt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gilbert Schilt!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James looks to throw the jab but Schilt is out of range.
Schilt lunges at James with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by James's hand.
James takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Schilt throws a leg kick which misses James's front leg but catches the back leg as James tries to avoid it.
James has a takedown stuffed.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
James swings and misses with a hook to the body.

James looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Schilt is looking to stand up but James isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Schilt is retaining full guard.
James is working hard here to advance position.
James wants to control from the top but Schilt keeps moving.

James postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Schilt is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of James, into his guard.

James working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Schilt has passed into half guard!
Schilt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James is refusing to be controlled, as Schilt sits in half guard.
James is trying to control but can't.
Schilt slows the pace down in half guard.
James is trying to get back to full guard.

Schilt stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

James throws a combination that misses
and Schilt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Schilt leaves James with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James misses with a jab, cross combination.
James closes the distance and clinches up with Schilt, looking for a takedown. James pushes Schilt against the cage but Schilt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
James takes a jab right on the kisser.
James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Schilt counters with a flying knee. Nice.
James tries to bum rush Schilt with a series of wild strikes but Schilt uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Schilt misses the shot to the body.
James misses with an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

James shoots in and gets a takedown into Schilt's guard.
James pushing down on Schilt's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

James is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
James seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schilt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gilbert Schilt will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


James shoots in for a takedown but Schilt shows good takedown defense.
Schilt changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
James has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Schilt.
Schilt lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Both fighters circling a little - Schilt finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
James takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Schilt scores with a kick to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Schilt lands an overhand right.
James throws a right hand that Schilt ducks under and follows up with a left that Schilt also avoids with ease.

Schilt lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Schilt cracks James with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Nick James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Horrible takedown by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Schilt which made him look bad.
A looping hook to the body misses from Schilt. James does a little dance to reset his feet.
Schilt cracks James with a right hand to the side of the head.
James avoids the body shot from Schilt.
Schilt jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James closes the distance and clinches up with Schilt, looking for a takedown. James pushes Schilt against the cage but Schilt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Schilt plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
James shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Schilt defends it nicely.
Gilbert Schilt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
James tries to clinch there but Schilt circles away.
James shoots and misses
and Schilt counters with a lovely straight right hand!
James cracks Schilt with a right hand to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Schilt showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from James.
James walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Schilt lands a big head kick that sends James tumbling to the mat! Schilt takes a step backwards and waves James back to his feet - he wants the finish!


James is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Schilt is looking to slow James down with leg kicks.
Oh James is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
James misses with a takedown attempt - Schilt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
James seems to have got his legs back now.
Schilt feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! James collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Gilbert Schilt!
Gilbert Schilt decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
