Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Immanuel Tarves!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarves keeps the fight on the outside.
Grant misses with a looping right.
Tarves avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Nice sprawl there from Grant as Tarves shoots in.
Some bone on bone action there as Tarves checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Tarves clinches up against the cage.

Tarves manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Grant in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Grant loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Grant wants to control from the top but Tarves keeps moving.

Tarves pushes Grant off and gets back to his feet.
Tarves keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Oooooh!!! Grant has knocked Tarves down with a huge combo! Grant steps away and waves a wobbly Tarves back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Immanuel Tarves has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Grant misses the jab.
Tarves moves out of range of the leg kick from Grant.
Grant misses with a straight left.
Grant keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Tarves shoots in but Grant avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Grant stuffs the takedown.
Seth Grant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Immanuel Tarves.

Tarves has managed to clinch.
Tarves changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Grant fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Grant throws out a loose jab but Tarves uses good head movement to avoid it.
Tarves slips under a jab from Grant.

Grant wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Tarves looks winded!
Grant tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tarves was well out of range. Poor timing from Grant.
Grant throws a body punch but Tarves moves out of range.
Grant does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Grant tries to work over Tarves's front leg with a kick but Tarves checks it.
Grant swings for the body but Tarves moves out of range.
Grant rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Tarves moves into the clinch.
Grant is trying to maintain a safe position but Tarves gets an underhook and turns Grant into the cage.
Grant misses with a body punch.
Grant stops a takedown attempt from Tarves.
Grant misses with some punches.
Grant wants to break the clinch but can't.

Tarves escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Grant slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by Tarves.
Grant throws a body punch but Tarves moves out of range.
Tarves keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Grant throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Grant throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tarves slaps away a takedown attempt from Grant, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tarves avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tarves takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tarves takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Tarves walks into a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Grant is stalking Tarves. Tarves circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Grant, and it's lights out! Tarves really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
