Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Maia!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Maia throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Lee thows a huge punch but Maia dodges it nicely.
Maia is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Maia landing small, sideways elbows.

A close round but John Maia will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Maia has his takedown stuffed

and Lee counters by moving into the clinch.

Lee has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Maia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Lee is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Maia has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lee is looking to defend but Maia has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lee! Maia pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lee taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). John Maia!
In his post fight interview, John Maia gave a big smile as he said 'Thank you Anderson Lee for a great fight and I hope I can challenge you in the future'.
