PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Christian Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maka Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Christian Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Maka Singh!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kane moves into the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Kane misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Singh tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kane lands a hook that snaps the head of Singh backwards.
Kane working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Kane gets underhooks to prevent Singh's takedown attempt.
Singh drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kane gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Christian Kane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maka Singh.
Kane lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Singh is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kane pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kane misses with some punches.
Still in the clinch, Kane scores with a nice short uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kane lands with a left to the head.
Singh is trying to pull guard but Kane turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Kane.
Kane wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Singh has him pressed against the cage.
Singh misses with a punch to the body.
Still in the clinch, Kane scores with a nice short uppercut.
Singh is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kane pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Kane breaks the clinch.
Kane throws a leg kick that misses.
Singh takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Kane lands a lovely overhand right.
Kane connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Christian Kane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kane wants it to stay on the feet.
Kane bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Singh's head backwards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Singh.
Singh shoots in for a double leg but Kane sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Singh looks winded!

Kane has Singh up against the cage in a clinch.
Kane presses Singh against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Kane pushes Singh back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Kane is trying to break the clinch but Singh is controlling him.
Kane lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Singh backwards.
A nice left hand lands by Kane.
Kane lands with a left to the head.
Kane makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Kane lands with a left to the head.
Kane lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Singh or not.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Singh tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Kane lands a right hand.

Singh breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Singh fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kane avoids it really well and circles away.
Kane jabs at Singh's body.
Kane lands a two punch combo.
Kane lands a nice hook to Singh's body. Singh takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kane tried to score with a low kick but Singh checks it.
Nice jab there from Kane.
Singh with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kane to score with a decent uppercut.

Oooooh!!! Kane has knocked Singh down with a huge combo! Kane steps away and waves a wobbly Singh back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Singh is rocked!


It looks like Maka Singh has been cut.
Kane scores with a jab. Singh acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Singh is still on wobbly legs! Can Kane finish him?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kane cracks Singh with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Singh falls to his knees and Kane doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Christian Kane!
Christian Kane seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
