PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erik Lehnsherr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Baller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lehnsherr's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, PURE EVIL!. Baller comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Helicopter, made of meat! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Paul Baller will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Erik Lehnsherr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Baller!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baller gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Baller is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lehnsherr.
Lehnsherr ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Lehnsherr pushes Baller up against the cage in a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lehnsherr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A combination from Lehnsherr does no damage.
Lehnsherr lands a nice shot that snaps Baller's head back.
Lehnsherr misses with a straight right.
Baller is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A nice combination there by Lehnsherr.
Lehnsherr is looking to clinch but Baller is avoiding it.
Lehnsherr throws a nice looking combination but Baller bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lehnsherr throws a hook but Baller blocks it.

Lehnsherr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Baller throws a looping overhand right but Lehnsherr ducks down to avoid it.

Oooooh!!! Lehnsherr has knocked Baller down with a huge combo! Lehnsherr steps away and waves a wobbly Baller back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lehnsherr misses with a double jab
and Baller cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lehnsherr throws a jab when Baller was well out of range.

Lehnsherr closes the distance and clinches.
Lehnsherr lands a right hand.
Lehnsherr can't find room to land a body shot as Baller controls the action.

Lehnsherr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lehnsherr moves into the clinch.

Lehnsherr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lehnsherr is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lehnsherr is looking to clinch.
Lehnsherr misses with an uppercut. Baller saw that one coming.
Baller keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lehnsherr.
Lehnsherr slips a straight right by Baller.
Lehnsherr throws a series of punches but Baller avoids them all with ease.
Good exchange - Lehnsherr coming out on top.
Baller takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


That has opened up Paul Baller's cut even more.
Lehnsherr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lehnsherr throws a poor cross that misses
and Baller counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lehnsherr misses with a kick to the body.
Lehnsherr connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Baller moves out of range of the strikes.
Baller shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Lehnsherr is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Lehnsherr clinches.

Lehnsherr breaks the clinch.
Baller blocks a jab.
Lehnsherr lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lehnsherr lands a big right hand that sends Baller crashing to the mat! Lehnsherr stays standing though and waves Baller back to his feet!


Baller is rocked!
Lehnsherr throws a shot from downtown. Baller moves away and avoids it.
Baller is still on wobbly legs! Can Lehnsherr finish him?
Erik Lehnsherr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lehnsherr cracks the inside of Baller's front leg.
Baller seems to have recovered his senses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Baller takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lehnsherr fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Lehnsherr clinches up with Baller and pushes him back against the cage.
Baller keeps control of Lehnsherr as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lehnsherr tries to work over Baller's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Baller prevents a body shot from Lehnsherr.

Lehnsherr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lehnsherr waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Baller.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Baller walks into a left hand.


The cut above Paul Baller's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Lehnsherr feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Baller sprawling to the canvas! Baller rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lehnsherr finish him?!
Lehnsherr sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Baller's defenses. It connects perfectly with Baller's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Erik Lehnsherr!
Erik Lehnsherr seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
