Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alfa Omega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nate Thomas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Thomas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Thomas darts in and clinches Omega up against the cage.
Omega tries to work over Thomas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Omega's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Omega gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Omega for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Thomas decides to pull guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Omega would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Thomas is trying to keep Omega in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Omega decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Omega swats away the attempt to clinch by Thomas.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch but Omega swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Thomas stuffs the takedown attempt from Omega. Omega gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Omega closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Omega tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Thomas.
Omega stops Thomas from getting back to his feet.
Thomas wants to control but Omega is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Omega is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

and Thomas counters with a big head kick but Omega shrugs it off.
Omega avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Thomas makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Omega really felt that one!

and Thomas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Omega's guard now.

Thomas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Omega looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Omega pushes Thomas away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Thomas gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Omega knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thomas on the ground.

Thomas is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Omega can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Nate Thomas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Thomas rushes Omega and presses him up against the cage.

Thomas has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Omega clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Thomas really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Omega.

Thomas has his opponent's back but Omega is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Thomas.
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch but Omega swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Omega tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Omega somewhat.

Thomas seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Omega on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Omega tries to get out of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thomas wants to stand up but Omega is controlling the position.
Thomas thows a huge punch but Omega dodges it nicely.
Alfa Omega has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nate Thomas is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Thomas wants to take a breather but Omega is having none of it.
