Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Burgundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ron Burgundy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Sapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Burgundy!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Sapp as Burgundy shoots in.
Burgundy throws a push kick but Sapp slaps the foot to one side.
Horrible takedown by Burgundy or perhaps it was just good defense by Sapp which made him look bad.
Sapp keeps the fight on the outside.
Burgundy avoids a kick to the body.
Sapp throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Burgundy.
Burgundy tries to clinch but Sapp is having none of it.
Sapp swats away the attempt to clinch by Burgundy.

Sapp gets a clinch.
Burgundy using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sapp has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Sapp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Burgundy moves in looking to clinch but Sapp pushes him off.

Sapp shoots in and gets a takedown into Burgundy's guard.
Sapp pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burgundy is keeping the position for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sapp controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Sapp seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Burgundy for as long as he can get away with.
Burgundy is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Sapp decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Burgundy, up you get!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Burgundy is defended easily by Sapp.
Bob Sapp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ron Burgundy.
Sapp tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burgundy was well out of range. Poor timing from Sapp.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burgundy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sapp circles away.
Burgundy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sapp counters with a huge head kick that drops Burgundy! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Sapp!
A less than humble Bob Sapp misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
